Interested in gaining hands-on experience in conservation? Hollow Oak works with students and interns on projects that support land protection, stewardship, education, and community engagement.
Whether you’re looking for a semester-long internship, a summer position, or a focused project to support a class or capstone, we’ll work with you to shape an experience that fits your goals and schedule. Depending on our current needs and your interests, opportunities might include:
- Stewardship and field work: helping care for trails and conservation areas alongside our staff and volunteers
- Education and programming: supporting public hikes, events, and youth or community programs
- Communications and outreach: creating social media content, writing, photography, and storytelling that connect people to the land
- Membership and community engagement: supporting events, volunteer recruitment, and relationship-building
- Research and planning: projects related to mapping, land protection, or conservation planning
Students and interns gain practical, résumé-ready experience, work directly with a small, mission-driven team, and see the tangible impact of their efforts on protected greenspace in their own community. We’re happy to coordinate with schools and faculty advisors to meet credit or service-learning requirements.
