Hollow Oak Land Trust protects and manages over 800 acres of woodlands, wetlands, and greenspaces across many communities in the greater Pittsburgh area — including Moon, Kennedy, Franklin Park, North Fayette, Hopewell, Kilbuck, Ben Avon, Emsworth, and Chippewa.
We own a number of distinct conservation areas, each with its own character and habitat, including:
- Montour Woods
- Trout Run
- Vinegar Hollow
- Fifer’s Fields
- Thorn Run
- Kenmawr
- Boggs Run
- Forestbrooke
- Sahli Nature Park
These conservation lands are preserved not just for their scenic and ecological value, but also for public enjoyment. You’ll find ample opportunities for:
- Hiking, running, and biking — trails and paths winding through wooded areas and along wetlands.
- Birding and wildlife observation — the diversity of habitats makes for great wildlife spotting.
- Quiet enjoyment of nature — whether through a simple walk, a moment of reflection, or reconnecting with the natural world.
All of this is open to the public at no cost, with the understanding that visitors will respect wildlife, plants, and fellow visitors. Hollow Oak also manages trail conditions, helping ensure safe, clean, and pleasant access.
