One of the most popular mountain bike races in the Pittsburgh area, Race to the Moon celebrates both municipal and private greenspace by combining park amenities with the 10-mile trail system created by Hollow Oak staff and volunteers. All proceeds support the mission of Hollow Oak to protect and connect greenspace in the Pittsburgh area.

Mandatory Riders Meeting at 9:30AM

Men/Women/Juniors: $35 Pre-register by Sept. 8th or $45 day of race

Hollow Oak Membership $20 (normally $35)

Time Trial Start and timing provided by Miles of Smiles, Food provided after the race by donation.

Expert course is approximately 23 miles (3 laps)

Classes/Awards: Men, Women

Sport course is approximately 17 miles (2 laps)

Men: Overall 1,2,3 and 1-18; 19-39; 40-49; 50+ Women: Overall 1,2,3 and 35+ Singlespeed; Fat Bike (min. 3.8”); Clydesdale (200+ lb.)

Novice course is approximately 10 miles (1 lap)

Men: Overall 1,2,3; Women: Overall 1,2,3 Junior Boys ages 1-12; 13-18; Junior Girls ages 1-12; 13-18
