Join the Hollow Oak Land Trust staff at Montour Woods Pavilion Pavilion for snacks, drinks, and to learn about and celebrate some of the most underappreciated residents of our woodlands…bugs and insects! An insect walk for ages 16+ will be hosted by local entomologist Tim Tomon from 12:00-1:30 pm, and a kid focused stream study will be hosted concurrently. In addition, we will have the macroinvertebrate (stream bug) mounts from the Carnegie Museum, and information on the Land Trust and volunteerism. Anyone interested in getting into the creek should wear closed toe, water friendly shoes. The insect walk will cover relatively easy terrain, but please wear closed toe shoes and bring water if you would like.
