Amphibian Walk, All Ages-Program Postponed to Thursday April 24th, 7-9pm!
The chilly temperatures forecasted for the original date are too cold for our amphibian friends to be active. We want to offer the best experience for our participants and have decided to postpone to a date forecasted to be warmer.
Explore amphibians on a walk with Dr. Catie Hanna, a behavioral ecologist and biology professor at Robert Morris University. Dr. Hanna’s research is focused on amphibian conservation. She is specifically interested in understanding the breeding behaviors and population genetics of Jefferson’s salamander.
Join us for this twilight walk in Montour Woods where we will listen for frog calls and talk about what makes amphibians special and why studying amphibians and protecting their populations is important. We will start at the pavilion near Hassam Road and work our way along the creek towards the frog pond, where hopefully the frogs will be calling! All ages are welcome for this unique program. Please plan to bring water and a flashlight and wear rain boots or shoes that can get muddy.
